This is one of the most common questions I’ve been asked over the years - and it’s a completely valid one.
Your wedding day is one of the most important, memorable days of your life, and bridal makeup is a very different service to standard special occasion makeup.
My role goes beyond creating a beautiful look; it’s about ensuring you feel calm, confident and completely looked after from start to finish.
The key differences include:
Products & longevity
Bridal makeup requires high-end, professional products specifically chosen for longevity, comfort, and photography. Your makeup needs to withstand a full day of emotions, smiling, laughing, happy tears, eating, drinking, and dancing - while still looking flawless.
Technique & expertise
There is a significant difference in application techniques between standard and bridal makeup. Bridal techniques are designed to last for many hours and photograph beautifully from every angle, something developed through years of experience, training, and working alongside industry professionals.
Planning & time management
Wedding mornings require careful scheduling and forward planning. I coordinate timings with you, your bridal party, and often hair stylists and photographers to ensure everything runs smoothly and stress-free.
Kit, hygiene & preparation
Bridal bookings require extensive kit use. For a typical bridal party, 50+ brushes may be used, all of which must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised after the event - a process that can take several hours.
Travel & unsociable hours
Early starts, venue travel, and on-location setup are often required to accommodate wedding timelines.
Professional costs
Bridal pricing also reflects insurance, professional-grade products, ongoing training, equipment, travel, and business overheads.
I regularly carry out local market research to ensure my pricing remains fair, competitive, and reflective of the service provided.
I recommend booking 3–6 months in advance to ensure availability, particularly for bridal and peak-season dates. However, I may occasionally have availability at shorter notice, depending on my schedule.
If your date is coming up soon, please feel free to get in touch to check current availability.
Booking is secured once a non-refundable deposit has been received, with the remaining balance due prior to your appointment or on the day (details will be confirmed at the time of booking). This ensures your date and time are reserved exclusively for you.
Yes, I’m available for on-location appointments, including nationwide and international travel, with additional travel fees applied depending on location, distance, and start time. Please get in touch for a personalised travel quote.
Absolutely! I have experience working with a wide range of skin types, tones, and ages, including mature skin, acne-prone skin, and sensitive skin. All makeup is carefully selected and tailored to suit your individual needs for comfort, longevity, and finish.
During the booking process, I will ask for reference images as a guide, adapting the look to suit your features, skin type, and personal style. My aim is to create a look that feels flattering, wearable, and uniquely you rather than an exact replica.
If you need to make changes to your booking, please contact me as soon as possible. Deposits are non-refundable, but where possible, I’ll do my best to accommodate date or time changes subject to availability. Full terms will be provided at the time of booking.
For best results, please arrive with clean, well-moisturised skin and avoid applying makeup beforehand. Any relevant skin concerns, sensitivities, or allergies should be shared in advance of your appointment.
For a smooth, flawless base, dermaplaning is recommended to help enhance makeup application and longevity. This service can also be added on the day for an additional fee, subject to availability.
To protect your skin and ensure the best possible finish, please avoid the following 48 hours prior to your appointment:
Facials
Spray tans
Facial laser or advanced skin treatments
Facial tattoos or new facial piercings
